Textured Mixed Media Art
I'm Marleen. My abstract art connects color with texture, surface with depth. Three-dimensional structures that create space for dreams.
FEATURED WORK
"Red Ocean" (2020) 80×80cm | Mixed Media with Raised Textures
An intense exploration of color and texture, created during the pandemic in 2020 - a time filled with emotions, uncertainty, and fear. Large sections of handmade paper with golden swirl patterns meet thick applications of hand-sculpted structural paste
In the center, self-made crackle medium creates organic fissures that tell stories of time and transformation.
The raised structures give the work a sculptural quality. Each layer tells its own story.
SIGNATURE COLLECTION
This collection features 15 original artworks created in my studio between 2015 and 2022. Each piece is one of a kind, handcrafted from a variety of materials - layers of acrylic paint, structural paste, handmade paper, and self-made mediums that change their texture as they dry.
The selection ranges from large, striking works that dominate spaces to the "2Things" series, which explores the two contrasting facets of my life over several years.
Some works were born in a single, intense day, while others grew in layers over weeks. Each tells its own story.
