Abstract art for interiors filled with light, calm, and character
Original abstract paintings with texture and depth — created for modern interiors, Mediterranean homes, and meaningful spaces.

Who am I?
I am Marleen, an abstract artist based in Cyprus..
My work explores the relationship between texture, color, and space — inspired by light, nature, and the calm atmosphere of the Mediterranean.
Each painting is an original, created to do more than decorate a wall — it is meant to shape the feeling of a room.
What defines my work
- Original abstract artworks
- Each piece is one of a kind
- Created in cohesive collections
- Expressive use of color combined with texture and depth
- Suited for modern, timeless, and Mediterranean interiors
Working in cohesive collections
My work is created in cohesive collections. Within each series, multiple paintings share a common color palette, structure, and visual language, while differing in size and composition. This allows individual works to be selected with intention or combined into harmonious groups — ideal for considered interior concepts in both private and commercial spaces.
Color, texture, and spatial presence
Color plays a central role in my work. Through deliberate layering, texture, and contrast, each piece develops a presence that shifts with light and surroundings, adding character and energy to a space.
FEATURED WORK
"Red Ocean" (2020) 80×80cm | Mixed Media with Raised Textures
An intense exploration of color and texture, created during the pandemic in 2020 - a time filled with emotions, uncertainty, and fear. Large sections of handmade paper with golden swirl patterns meet thick applications of hand-sculpted structural paste
In the center, self-made crackle medium creates organic fissures that tell stories of time and transformation.
The raised structures give the work a sculptural quality. Each layer tells its own story.
COASTAL DREAMS
The “Coastal Dreams” collection brings together original abstract artworks inspired by coastal landscapes, water movement, and natural structures seen from above. Soft blue, sand, white, and earthy tones meet layered surfaces created with acrylics, structural paste, and mixed media.
Each piece develops intuitively layer by layer. Relief-like textures, delicate material fractures, and flowing transitions create depth and continuously shift depending on light and viewing angle throughout the day.
The works within this collection move between calmness and movement — inspired by the sea, coastlines, aerial perspectives, and the organic traces shaped by water and time.
From smaller atmospheric pieces to large statement artworks, “Coastal Dreams” brings a calm and contemporary presence into modern interiors, boutique hotels, and curated spaces.
